Jewelry For The Thumb

"It's ok". "No, it's no good." "Hey, can I have a ride?" With one gesture of the thumb, you can relay all of this without having to say a word. That is how important this finger is. Oh, and don't forget that eating, typing and any number of daily activities would be impossible or extremely difficult without the help of this digit. It works so hard, why not dress it up with a thumb ring?

Not a new concept
The first men's thumb rings were actually worn by ancient archers. Made of leather, they protected the fingers during battle. Centuries ago, they were also worn as a sort of license for physicians. Shakespeare even made mention of this accessory of the thumb in Romeo and Juliet.

They have been worn for practical purposes, but also for the simple joy of accessorizing this digit. There's not always a reason for wearing this accessory, though it can certainly hold some significance for the wearer. Usually though, it is merely a fashion statement instead of some huge proclamation of beliefs or character.
Popular Styles

One trend that is very popular is to wear several thin bands stacked atop each other. A bold statement is made and the width can be controlled and changed depending on mood. Gold and diamond rings are also trendy. For an inexpensive option, look for sterling silver with crystals instead.
Wavy bands add some movement to the accessory. It is also one that can be stacked to create a geometric design. In palmistry, it is believed that wearing a silver thumb ring helps clear the mind to go ahead and achieve goals that were previously avoided.
Who's wearing them?

The quick answer is everyone-men, women, moms, grandmas, celebrities, teenagers and anyone else who loves jewelry. Teenagers who are rebelling against conformity might choose to express themselves by wearing gothic rings that cover nearly the entire thumb.

Images of skulls and crosses are often found on this style. Women wear the wedding bands of loved ones who have passed on. For a very masculine look, men wear bold and wide sterling silver bands with tribal designs.
Cleaning and maintaining thumb rings

Because this digit is so busy holding on to things, any jewelry on it tends to get beat up. For plain bands, have a jeweler professionally buff out the scratches and reduce the appearance of any dents. Sterling silver pieces should be cleaned only in specially made silver cleaner. It comes in wipes, liquid and creams.
Gold can be cleaned in normal jewelry cleaner as can gemstones. For any settings that may be glued in, don't soak in warm water. This might loosen the adhesive so simply wipe onyx and other stones with a damp cloth. Don't place these in ultrasonic pieces!

Sterling silver thumb rings and other styles are a fun way accessorize. Fancier pieces with diamonds can be worn with anything, including evening wear. From simple to quirky, there are thumb rings to appeal to all ages and gender. Have fun with yours!

The Ring Fingers

A study at the University of Liverpool showed that there may be a link between finger length and depression in men. This study found that the longer a man's fingers are in relation to his height, the more likely he is to suffer from depression. Although this study included women as well as men, the same could not be concluded for the women which led the group of researchers to discover that as testosterone levels dimish during depression, that the culprit could be lower levels of pre-natal testosterone! And all this because of his fingers...but fingers are fascinating and the vast majority of society wear rings on their fingers (no bells on their toes, at least normally) without many appreciating some of the information about fingers. So think again before you buy stylish silver rings because you may just want to buy the next one for a different finger.

The Greeks assigned the ring finger meanings in line with their Gods. So wearing a ring on the thumb finger whose God is Poseidon, represents individualism. If you wear one on the index finger, God Zeus, this meant dominance, energy and power. The Greek God for the middle finger is Dionysus so wearing a ring on that finger represents rebellion, decadence and irreverence. The finger known as the ring finger is Aphrodite, so this is for love, romance and good connections. The Greek God for our little pinky is Ares which symbolises assertiveness, competitiveness and conflict.

What about palmistry? In palmistry the thumbs are related to self control. There are references here to the active hand and the passive hand; this simply means that if you are right handed then this is your active hand making your left passive. So if you or someone you see has a thumb which goes inwards on the active hand this could mean that they are not currently fully applying themselves to their worldly ambitions. The same on the passive hand shows inner conflicts. Choosing rings for personal transformation in this instance you could wear a narrow, silver ring which can help with guidance and strength, which if possible has a milled surface (this is to be industrious), which should be worn on the passive hand. In traditional chinese medicine (TCM) the thumb relates to the lungs, which are for inspiration.

The index finger is called the mirror finger by palmists. It is ruled by Jupiter and is about self-reflection. If you or someone you know wears a big ring on the active index finger this could mean that there are self-esteem issues. The person could feel in need of recognition and power, especially if this ring contains a large gemstone. For these situations a tin based ring which is very simple should be worn on the active hand, with no gem, and with flat sides for humility and modesty. In TCM the index finger relates to digestion, therefore it can be digestion of life and ideas.

The middle finger which is known as the wall finger is ruled by Saturn which represents the psychological boundaries, values and lifestyle. The larger the ring and gemstone on this finger , the more seriously the person takes life and wants to feel secure. However multiple rings on the middle finger of the passive hand can be associated with stability in the family and obsession over material things. For those who have concerns like this it is good to wear a ring on the passive hand with a clear, square crystal to bring stability and clarity. In TCM the middle finger relates to the heart, so self-love and love of others.

The third finger, also called the ring finger, is the focus of the love binding ceremonies which can be traced back to pagan times. Wearing a ring here is a self-imposed idea to help the subconscious to restrict itself in pursuing the other sex. In TCM this is the liver which in Chinese medicine is the seat of anger.

The fourth finger, our pinky, is ruled by Mercury, God of Communication, and in palmistry this is called the antenna. It communicates with all levels, and people who wear more than one ring here may have a tendency to embellish the truth a little. A small fine ring on the passive hand will enhance communication in the right way, you will notice an immediate difference. In TCM this is the kidney which is about fear.

The future is often coined to be the undiscovered country. Though the axiom curtails poetry in its semblance, there is truth to what it is saying, as the future is indeed undiscovered for one and all.
As such, the reasons why fortune telling is quite popular is understandable, with millions of people from all over the world asking questions with regards what the future holds for them.

1) Foretelling Your Future
Call them fortune tellers or psychics, these persons are claimed to have the ability to see the future, capable of foretelling what is to come in the days ahead.
Typically, fortune tellers employ various strategies into successfully doing their craft, with some focusing on one, while others are known to have the capacity to do several strategies.
There is the crystal sphere, to which a fortune teller could see the future with, there is also palmistry, where the reading of your palm could show some signs as to what your future would be. Some fortune tellers utilize astrology as well, being able to map out your future through connecting the dots already mapped in the stars.
But of all these strategies, the act of reading tarot cards is known to be quite famous, resulting to conflicting views with regards its legitimacy or authenticity.

The Fool card, and an extra face card per suit were known to be the basic rules in playing the Tarot, utilizing the regular variety of the face cards of the playing cards. The act of reading Tarot cards eventually became the avenue to which many fortune tellers could see or hear out what future waits for a client.
Reading tarot cards would stand to be very much subjective, as their meanings vary from one fortune teller to another. Also, interpretations could vary depending on the spread, as well as the type of tarot deck being used.
Bottom line, though hailed to be avenues to which one could learn about his or her future, no scientific proof has yet to come up in stating the truth in reading tarot cards, but many still stand tall in being advocates to the act.

4) Tarot Card Reading and Its Controversies
Along with the crystal sphere or crystal ball and palm reading, tarot card reading is known for being one of the many different systems being used by fortune tellers in seeing beyond.
Basically, Tarot cards are a deck of cards associated with mysticism and magic. Its first recorded origins were seen in the 15th Century. It was not accepted by occultists, mystics and secret societies until 1781, when a Freemason and Swiss clergyman named Antoine Court de Gebelin published a study which dealt with religious symbolism.
Gebelin claimed that the words tar and ro, equaled to royal and road in Egyptian, resulting to the Tarot name, meaning royal road to wisdom. Also, Geblin was certain of the symbolism of the Tarot de Marseille with that of the mysteries of Thoth and Isis.
In time Egyptologists found out that there was no connection between Egyptian texts and what Gebelin was stating, but things were too late, as the connection with the tarot and occultists had been already firmly rooted.
But even with such a history, many still are convinced of the future telling capabilities of Tarot Cards, yielding to its widespread practice as a system in fortune telling.

5) Online Tarot Card Readings
The internet is known to be one of the many alternative avenues where tarot card reading is known to prevail, seconded by radio and television.
The thing with online tarot card reading is that they boast to have the privacy factor, somewhat different from radio and television, as with tarot card reading shows on television and radio entail the basic given of callers calling in, asking questions relevant to them, allowing audiences to hear out or see, who the callers are, and what his or her concerns are.

With online tarot card readings, internet surfers do not have to worry about such matters, considering that they have the full attention of the online tarot reader, which typically would be a web application, programmed with predefined parameters, all depending on the input a surfer types in.

Most who actively participate in online tarot card readings are into the act for the sheer passing the time value they boast to have, and do not exactly put that much stock into the predictions which they come up with. This is not exactly true. Those good online tarot card readings site can actually help the seekers get the answers they are looking for if the seekers are themselves sincere and serious in asking the questions. Certain tarot reading tools can also help seekers increase their intuition and psychic abilities. Ultimately, these are just tools, and if treated with respect and used with care, the seekers can gain a lot from using such tools.

Palmistry Devi

The American Heritage Dictionary defines Palmistry as the practice of telling fortunes from the lines, marks, and patterns on the palms of the hands. Palmistry is also called as chiromancy, palm-reading, chirology, or hand-analysis. Palmistry originated in ancient India. It was said to be practiced by the Brahmins of Ancient India. Palmistry can be regarded as a part of Astrology. Records of practice of Palmistry are also available in countries such as China, Tibet, Persia, Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Ancient Greece.

Cheiro was the most famous practitioner of palmistry in modern times. He was born in Ireland and had predicted many incidents of his time. For example, he correctly foretold the Boer War, death of Queen Victoria, assassination of King Umberto of Italy, a year or so before each of these incidents occurred. He also had predicted about the infamous Great Depression all over the world. He correctly predicted the outbreak and end of World War 1 before it happened. Cheiro wrote a number of valuable books on Palmistry. He had also successfully predicted the downfall of the Czar in Russian and the subsequent massacre of him and all his immediate family members. Palmistry is based on reading the lines on the hand of a person. Palmists say that by reading the lines of a person's hand, it is quite possible to tell about the persons past, present and future. They say that positioning of the lines in the hand is a key to determining the subjects past, present, and future. The basics of Palmistry are said to be quite simple as opposed to the popular belief that it is something mysterious. The fleshy part of the hand and the structure of the fingers reveal a lot about the subject. Palmists claim that predictions through Palmistry has scientific basis, even though the scientists worldwide have their own opinion regarding this topic. The scientists claim that Palmistry does not have any scientific basis. According to the Palmists, the dominant hand of a person reveals the current and future trends. On the other hand, the passive hand reveals the person's childhood. Palmists see a definite pattern in the lines on the palm. These lines have been classified into heart line, head line, life line, fate line etc. Each of these lines will interpret different aspects of ones life.

In this age of cutthroat competition, the people seem to have become more and more dependant on things beyond their normal powers. Palmistry is gaining popularity even among the western public as well. This is because human beings have become more concerned about their future than ever before. Palmistry is quite popular in India. It is a part of the everyday life for many Indians. Life is unimaginable for them without Palmistry. They will consult the Palmist for almost every activity of their lives. For special occasions like marriage, setting up of a new business, birth of a child, starting a new profession etc, a visit to a Palmist has become a must. A palmist will examine the hand carefully and advice the clients about their next activity. The palmists say that there is a relation between the lines in ones palm, the planetary motions, and ones life.

At The Heart Of Divination

Divination is also referred to as fortune telling. Divination uses aspects of the supernatural to predict the future or give insight. There are many different forms of divination. Divination usually involves a ritual or other formal routine. This could involve the lighting of candles, chanting of incantations or burning of incense. Divination is a way to connect with the other side, which could be those who have passed away, spirits or holy beings.

Divination is a highly criticized practice. There are many people who believe that divination cannot be proven as real. They believe that since divination usually involves one person connecting with the other side that the person is simply scamming or faking the connection. Many skeptics believe that divination is merely tapping into the sub-conscious mind and not communicating with the other side at all. Still others believe that there is no connection at all and the person doing the divination is just saying whatever they believe people want to hear. Despite numerous attempts to prove critics wrong, there is still skeptics out there who will never believe in the supernatural abilities of those who practice divination.

Some of the more popular and best known forms of divination include the following:
Astrology- Using the positions of the planets, sun and moon in correspondence with time, date, location and the Zodiac to give insight into one's life and future.
Tarot- The use of a 78 card deck that is laid out into spreads or patterns then read to look into one's situation.

Palmistry- Reading the lines on ones hand to interpret their life path.
Rune Casting- The use of runes that are cast upon the ground or a cloth to tell a persons situation.

Channeling- Connecting with the other side, spirits, and delivering their messages.
Psychic/Intuition- Connecting with a spirit or other celestial being to deliver messages, can be used with other forms of divination.

Divination may be something that a person is born able to do. For others it is something to be learned. It is widely thought that every person has the ability to tap into the supernatural. It just takes time for some to learn how to do it.
Divination has been used for centuries. It is often looked at as evil or as something that is only done by those who do not believe in God. This is not true. Many religious activities often include divination style practices. Anything that brings a connection between a person and a celestial being, be it God, a Saint, an angel, is a form of divination.

Most divination is done in a proper setting. The area used for divination is only used for that purpose. Nothing else is done in that area. Many times there are alters or other things to honor the spirits that may be present. It is done in a manner that shows respect to those beings that are coming to help or send messages. For people that practice divination it is a very serious ritual.

Divination is something that requires great patience and dedication. It may take a person a long time in order to connect to a spirit and when they do it can tae even longer to understand the messages they may be sending. It is a process that should be done with the knowledge of how to do it properly. Many times people expect to see amazing things, like lights flickering, the person performing the divination to fall into a trance or something else spectacular. This is usually not how it happens, though. It is usually a rather peaceful process that happens almost naturally.

Tools Tarot Card

Tarot cards are used as a tool for psychics to link in with spirits and guides to offer guidance that may relate to past, present and occasionally, the future.
Tarot cards can be laid out in various ways and any number of cards drawn. Some psychics may even use a combination of 2-3 tarot decks. Ultimately, the messages and guidance offered will be of meaning and of truth, and essentially, a message that needs to be given to the recipient.

All tarot cards come with meanings and some people may only use this way of giving readings. Some psychics however, will throw away the books accompanying the tarot cards, and use only links with spirit to give messages. These psychics/mediums use only information that is received on a truly spiritual link and are not practised in fictional fortune telling methods. The duration of tarot psychic readings given will vary.
How ever long or short the readings may be the messages given will be honest and give meaning and validation to the recipient.

Most authentic psychics will not elaborate or exaggerate any information to lengthen readings. When tools such as tarot are used, they are read using mediumistic and spiritual direction (intuition). This means that cards will be read on an individual basis for each person. For example, a person may choose three cards from the deck. E.g. Three of Swords, The Tower, The Priestess.

The psychic/medium will give their messages and guidance to this person. A second person can shuffle this same deck of tarot cards, and pull out these same three cards.
The messages given to this person will be different and have different validations.
There are many objects (tools) used by a medium of psychic to enable their connections to manifest in the same way as tarot. Some of these include crystals, crystal balls, colour, rune stones, angel cards, palmistry, psychometry etc.

To define your best method is to sit in a development circle or participate in a few specified workshops to find your niche and develop such skills with a reputable teaching medium.

The Thumb Palmistry

Illustration of a Lateral View of the ThumbThumb in a way, represents the whole hand. Hence more importance is attached to the thumb than it is given to the lines in the palm. The thumb reveals the whole identity of the individual to the palm reader. The thumb is considered as the root of the whole hand. The thumb is considered as the center of the will-power. It is formed by 2 pieces of bones. The first phalange of the thumb indicates logic and the phalange containing the nail indicates will-power.
According to medical sciences, no harm is done for the individual if the four fingers are cut off. But if the thumb is torn and there is profuse bleeding then the person might go insane and even results in his death.
Parts of the thumb

First phalange of the thumb
If the first phalange of the thumb is very long, then such a person is self-willed while he has less desire to work if the thumb is shorter. Such persons are weak-willed. If the fore part of the thumb is square, the person is clever in legal matters and is respected for his acts of justice. He is very obstinate if the fore part of the thumb is wide. If the forepart of the thumb is extraordinarily long then such a person is a murderer or a dacoit or remain engrossed in anti-social activities.

The Second Phalange of the Thumb
Persons whose second phalange is long, are clever, careful and a take a lead in social activities. They are held in high esteem by the society. If the phalange is short, the person works without any forethought. He works in acts of dangerous magnitude. If this phalange is clumsy, then he is devoid of the power of reasoning. If this phalange is depressed then the person's mind is sharp and sensitive.

Third part of thumb or Place of Venus
The third part of the thumb is not a phalange, instead it the place of Venus. A person who has this part more prominent, elegant with a pink tinge is well-advanced in love matters. They gain full popularity among friends. They succeed in life and smile under difficulties as well. If the mount of Venus is very protruded, then the person would be sexually immoral. If this part is less prominent or submerged with more than necessary lines then the person would be having a frustrated temperament.
Different types of thumbs

Long Thumb - Such persons are self-willed, self -dependent and control others. In their lives intelligence has more importance and they are called intellectuals, and they are especially interested in mathematics and engineering.

Obtuse-angled thumb- If the thumb makes an obtuse angle with the index finger then it comes under this category. Such thumbs are well-formed, long and thin. They are called gentle thumbs. Persons having such thumbs are gentle and sweet-tempered.

They are Artists and Musicians.
Right-angled thumb- These are those thumbs which form a right angle with the index finger. These thumbs are elegant, strong and appear like pillars. Such a person believes in hard work. They are short-tempered but quickly cool off. They stick to their words. The feeling of revenge is very strong in them. Such persons can be neither good friends not good enemies.

Acute- Angled Thumb- Thumbs which make an acute angle at the joint with the index finger come under this category. The length of such thumbs are comparatively smaller and look clumsy. Such thumbs are classed as of evil quality.
Persons with this kind of thumb are frustrated throughout their lives. They are very lazy. They do not complete any work. They remain in bad habits with lavish spending. They are less interested in religion and are more inclined towards ghosts, spirits and the like.

Tarot Origin and History

http://www.wopc.co.uk/downloads/BodetTarot.jpgThe origins of the Tarot are surrounded with myth and lore. It is hard to know for sure what the facts are. The Tarot has been thought to come from places like India, Egypt, China and Morocco. Others say the Tarot was brought to us from the Sufis or the Jewish Cabbalists. Still others contend that the origin of the tarot was from Moses. In the library of Alexandria, in Egypt, there were scrolls that were based on the Book of Thoth, an ancient book that came from Egypt's mystery schools. One theory is that the illustrations on the Tarot cards are secret teachings of the Book of Thoth hidden in the innocent pictures.

It seems that wherever there was a secret 'word of mouth' tradition handed down from teacher to pupil, it was hailed as the origin or beginning of Tarot. A large group believed it was the Gypsies who brought the tarot to Europe, the word gypsy being a corrupted version of Egyptian. That is highly unlikely, since evidence points to gypsies not using Tarot until the 20th century. Before that, palmistry was their preferred method of fortune telling.

The Historical Evidence Behind the Origins of the Tarot
It seems the only evidence there is to the origins of the Tarot can be found in the cards that were made in Italy, around 1420. The symbolism of the trumps can be found in the European art of the time, with some drawings being exactly the likeness of those found on Tarot cards.

History tells us that a scholar named Marziano da Torona, who was secretary to the Duke of Milan, may have invented the Tarot deck. Marziano was a scholar and an expert astrologer. The young duke, Filippo Maria Visconti instructed Marziano to create a game, using a deck that would replace the common suits of swords, coins, staves and cups. The duke wanted the new deck to have cards that represented virtues, riches, pleasures and purities. Marziano went on to create the card deck that Visconti wanted. He wrote a companion book to go with the deck of cards. It is on display in the Paris National library. In the book, there are no divine meanings to the cards, but no real rules for a card game, either. The book focuses on the symbolic meaning of the pictures and the different ranks of the depicted characters. Michelino da Besozzo is the Italian artist credited with painting the cards.

Is it plausible that the origins of the Tarot as the curious card game invented by Marziano da Torona? If so, why doesn't the book that accompanied the deck refer to the divination of the cards?

The Mystery Continues About The Origins of the Tarot
Where did the word Tarot come from? It has been called a Hebrew, Latin or Egyptian word. Is the word Tarot really an anagram, which when solved explains the mystery of the cards? Once again, the historical evidence of the origins of the word points to where the cards first appeared - in Italy. The cards were called Carte da trionfi, which is Italian for "cards of the triumphs". Later, a new card game was introduced, called Trumps or Triumphs. As it was played with different cards, the original Carte da trionfi became tarocco. In French they were called tarot.

What are these cards that are shrouded in mysterious beginnings used for? Are they good or evil? The Tarot is basically a set of symbols, which are printed on a pack of 78 cards. Regular playing cards have hearts, clubs, spades and diamonds as suits. Tarot cards have different suits, with meanings. The Wands (also known as staves or rods) point to creativity and energy. There are the Cups (or vessels), relating to emotions and friends; Swords cover the area of challenge and thought; the Pentacles (coins or disks) relate to money and security. The cards are placed in a particular pattern. A Tarot reader uses the cards as an oracle that can answer questions from the past, present or future.

The philosophy behind the Tarot is that the future is subject to change. If you are given enough notice, you can avoid the event you are being warned about. The Tarot makes you think, make you take steps that you might not have considered. When you ask a question of the Tarot that relates to the future, you'll be shown what will happen if you don't change anything. Many consider the Tarot cards as more of a counselling guide than a divining tool. Tarot readings can provide flashes of inspiration where otherwise the problems the person may be facing may seem insurmountable.

Do the cards that are used today, all over the world come from the deck Marziano da Torona created in the 1400's? Is the reason the origins of the Tarot are so shrouded in mystery owing to Anima Mundi? The Anima Mundi or soul of the world is seen as the vital force that presides over the growth and continuity of all living things. Like a Universal library, it contains the entire human races' memories and wisdom from the past, present and future. It can be summoned with deep thought. Imagine all the basic figures one could find in all religions, myths, legends and folklore. When combined, this wealth of knowledge is a powerhouse. To understand this more one can look at the Empress card of the Tarot. The very essence of femininity is represented in the Empress - she is the great mother Goddess of the world. She represents 'the eternal feminine', in myth and psychology. Does working with the images of the Tarot somehow allow our unconscious to connect with that human collectiveness? Does the Tarot become a porthole to the storehouse of answers to any question any of us has ever had? Perhaps it is because of the mystical Anima Mundi that we can't pinpoint the origin of the Tarot with certainty.

We may never really know the true history or the origins of the Tarot. Nevertheless, we continue to be attracted to the Tarot's wisdom, symbols and story.

Talents And Careers With Palmistry

Palmistry

One of the most rewarding palm reading experiences I've had is helping someone find the right career. It's sad to read people's palms who are unhappy with their careers. Some people have been stuck in the same career for twenty or thirty years, but have no idea what they should be doing.

A palmist can not say: You will be working as a clerk in an insurance company, but can tell the person the type of work they would be happier doing. Naturally, if the person enjoys their work, they'll be more successful.
It's very gratifying to read a teenager's palm that has no idea what career to pursue and help direct them towards a particular career path.
Hand Shapes

The hand's shape gives us the first clue to a positive career choice. Someone with a square palm needs to be in a practical field. If this person has a good Destiny Line he or she would do well in management or business. If the palm is oblong, the person will be imaginative and will need opportunities to utilize his or her thoughts and ideas.

Air Hand
Someone with an Air Hand will be happy in a field where they can communicate with others. Radio broadcasting, television announcing, teaching and sales would all be good career choices for this person. They'll actively use the analytical side of their brain and be reliable and conscientious.

Fire Hand
Someone with a Fire Hand is more likely to be outgoing than an Air Hand. The person with a Fire Hand will use intuition to make quick decisions. He or she will need change, variety and some way to express themselves. They would be good at sales or any other career where they're left to get on with it.

Earth Hand
If your client has an Earth Hand they'll enjoy repetitive tasks and relish practical work. This person will be reliable, honest and have hands that can think for themselves. They would be happy as a carpenter, plumber, mechanic or any field where they can use their head and hands.

Water Hand
Someone with a Water Hand will need pleasant surroundings and work that provides aesthetic pleasure. If this person is creative, they'll be able to develop this talent, but may need constant encouragement from family and friends to keep working. Suitable careers would include interior design, fashion and theatre.

THE FINGERS
D'Artepigny, a French army officer, was the first to devise a system for classifying palms. He was particularly interested in the fingers and noticed a striking contrast between artist's fingers and scientist's fingers.
He noticed that artists generally had smooth fingers while scientists had knotted ones. D'Artepigny was sufficiently intrigued with his discovery to carry on and become the first modern palmist.

Long Fingers
People with long fingers will be happiest in careers where they can immerse themselves in detail. My bank manager and my accountant both have long fingers which is great because I want them to take great care of my money!
Someone with long, tapering fingers will avoid manual work, if at all possible.
Short Fingers
People with short, square fingers will be the opposite to long fingered people. These people enjoy a hands-on job. Mechanics, carpenters, and gardeners often have short fingers.

Success in Business
You will find self-employed people with every possible variation of hand. A plumber will have a very different hand from a tailor, who likewise will have a different hand from a salesperson.

However, if someone is going to do well in business he or she will have a number of points in common with other successful business people.
The first of these is a strong thumb, the larger the better. This gives determination and the desire to succeed.

A good business person will need a Destiny line, as this will give direction and focus to his life. Occasionally, someone without a Destiny line achieves great success, but this is very rare. What will have happened is that this person will have been ambling along quite happily and chanced upon something that led him or her to success. The presence of a Destiny line gives the person a road map to follow.

He or she will also need a strong, straight Mercury finger as every business requires communication skills of one sort or another. A long Mercury finger also gives shrewdness and financial acumen.

A good length Jupiter finger will show how ambitious the person is. One person will be content owning a corner delicatessen, whilst another will not rest until he or she has a hundred of them.

As well as this the business person will need the various qualities necessary in the field he or she has chosen. Someone with a broad hand containing few lines, wide apart fingers with spatulate tips, and an angle of practicality on the thumb would last only a few days cooped up in an office. This person needs to be out of doors and would be happy and successful I careers such as farming or seafaring.
Talents
Fortunately, every one of us is different and I believe that everyone has a talent or special ability of some sort. Usually when we talk of talents, we refer to creative abilities and many people are blessed in this way.

However, most people do not do anywhere near as much with their talents as they could. there are a number of reasons for this, The talent may be unrecognized. The talent may not be approved of by the person's family. I once read the palms of a male ballet dancer of Oslo, Norway who did not take up dancing until his twenties because of his father's strong disapproval. Lack of motivation is the main reason people do not develop their talents. I am continually told by clients to whom I have pointed out a talent that they do not have time to work on it. This is simply an excuse. We can all find time to do the things we want to do.

A young boy in Norway for whom I read the palms wanted to educate himself to become a civil engineer. I, however, saw that he could have talents in business and I told him so.

After several years he phoned me and asked me whether I would like to join his Multi Level Marketing organisation. I did not, but he told me that my words had been instrumental for his business venture. Today he is a very successful businessman. His education is as a civil engineer, but his real talent is within the business world.
It is very gratifying to be able to help people like this.

As well, most talents require a sacrifice of some sort. Very few people are prepared to practice the piano for eight hours a day in the hope of ultimately becoming a successful concert pianist. It is the same with athletics. If someone wants to become a champion swimmer he or she is going to have to spend countless hours in the pool swimming up and down whilst friends are out having fun. It require considerable dedication and plain hard work, so matter how talented the person may be.

Artistic Ability
You are now familiar with the general indications of creativity on the palm To determine if this creativity is expressed through painting and drawing we look first at the Apollo finger. If this finger is strong, with a good mount at it's base and a long first phalange with a broad tip on it, we have someone with ability in this area. A long second phalange will provide a good sense of colour. You will always find this sign on people with good taste in clothes.

We also need to check the lower half of the palm to see how imaginative the person is. Ideally, the Mount of Luna will be strong, helping to create a curve of creativity on the persussion side of the palm.
If the person wants to be financially successful from art, he or she will need a longer than average little finger, a strong thumb and a reasonably wide palm. If these business indications are absent, this person would be better working for others as a staff artist, or perhaps using it as a hobby rather than a career.
Writing Ability

Writing is a branch of communication and we look first for a good-sized little finger. The second phalange should be the most prominent. If the Head line curves up to the Mount of Luna, the person will be a creative writer with a talent for fiction. If the Head line runs straight across the palm the talent will lie more with non-fiction. Fiction writers should have a well-developed lower half of the hand with strong Luna and Venus mounts.

Poets also need a strong sense of rhythm and rhyme which is indicated by the angle of pitch at the base of the thumb.

Acting Ability
Actors need to express themselves, so a good tip on the Mercury finger is essential. Ideally the fingers should be smooth and tapering to allow the emotions to be expressed. The hand should be as wide as possible to give the person confidence and the ability to push for him or herself. This is very important for long-term success in an extremely difficult field.

Character actors are likely to have knotted fingers. Comedians and actors in comic roles will have well developed mounts of Mercury and Luna. The whole percussion side of the hand should be well marked.

Musical Ability
An entire book could be written on determining the different types of musical talent in the hand which makes it hard to even attempt a few lines on the subject.
Singing ability in indicated be perfectly round fingers and a thumb containing both the angles of practicality and pitch. A good sized Mount of Venus gives a love of melody and the Luna mount harmony. For success in this field the person should also have a good length Apollo finger and a pronounced Apollo mount.

To be successful as a player of a musical instrument the person will need the angles of practicality and pitch, plus strong Venus and Luna mounts. Successful instrumentalists can be found with every possible shape of hand, though players of stringed instruments are usually possessors of Air and Water hands. Players of percussion instruments usually have Earth hands with broad fingertips.
In addition, talented musicians are likely to have a loop of music, loop of response or loop of stringed music.

Dancing Ability
Dancers need to be able to respond to rhythm and time, making the two angles of practicality and pitch essential. The Life line needs to come well across a preferably wide palm, giving stamina and energy. Venus and Luna mounts should be high and firm, enabling the person to lose him or herself in the dance.
A jazz dancer is likely to have pointed or conic fingertips, emphasizing inspiration and the ability to improvise. A dancer with square tips will be able to do exactly what is required and will perform previously memorized steps perfectly.

Health Of Palmistry

The medical palmistry guide to good health

Palmistry isn’t only about character analysis or fortune telling, it’s a powerful tool in preventing illness too. Lots of underlying health conditions show on the palm, months before they manifest as health problems. Always consult your physician and get a professional opinion about any suspected condition.

* The palm is a major area for scientific investigation – over 4,000 research papers have been published on aspects of the palm and health in the last 50 years.

* There is no relationship between the length of the lifeline and the length of your life - if yours is short, don’t worry!

* The palm lines aren’t fixed and will change as your health and your character changes.

* Some practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine use the palm to diagnose illness. There are many acupuncture points on the hands because many of the body’s energy meridians pass through them . Some reflexologists work on points on the palms as well as the feet.

Fingernail fitness

The nails are an excellent indicator of your general physical condition, so let’s begin with them. If you find something wrong with a single nail, ignore it – you may have just injured the nail bed. Only if there’s a matching sign on three or more nails should you take action.

If you’re in optimum health, your nails will be pale rose-pink in colour, unmarked by ridges, white spots or grooves with a natural sheen.

Spotty nails

One of the most obvious signs to look for is white flecks on the nails (their scientific name is leukonychia punctata). They signal mineral depletion (particularly iron, zinc and copper) sleeplessness and a run-down condition. They’re often seen on nursing mothers, junior doctors, shift workers, teenagers living on junk food and late nights, and on those recovering from illness. If your nails are marked like this, consider taking a good mineral supplement as well as sufficient sleep and exercise.

Ridged nails

One or more ridges (called Beau’s lines) running horizontally across the nails, like wrinkles in the surface, mark a period where nail growth was interrupted. It takes around ten weeks for the nail to grow, so this means some time back you had a temporary illness or some other shock to the system, an accident for instance, or a surgical operation, even an emotional trauma.

A series of fine, longitudinal lines show over-activity of the nervous system, anxiety, adrenal stress and it’s an early warning of rheumatic and arthritic disorders. Try to relax, perhaps with an activity like yoga or meditation and take glucosamine sulphate and omega fatty acids - good for the prevention of joint and mobility problems.

Other signs on the nails

Tiny, pin-prick like indentations on the nails are symptomatic of underlying skin diseases, like dermatitis or psoriasis.

Streaks of brown discolouration in the nail near the top edge, point to uric acid build-up and some sort of renal (kidney) problem.

Deep red nails indicate the possibility of high blood pressure, where very pale, bluish or purple coloured nails indicate the possibility of low blood pressure, circulatory or cardiac problems.

Sometimes the nails droop at the ends, rather like the leaves of a failing plant. If the nails are flat in profile and particularly, if the nails edges droop, there is general long-term fatigue and lack of vitality; not serious or necessarily illness-related, but you need rest and rejuvenation.

No moons on your nails? This very common (they’re always present on the thumbnails). It’s nothing to be concerned about but shows that aerobic capacity and circulation aren’t optimal.

The stress factor

Many diseases have their roots in some way in stress conditions. Stress is easily recognized in palmistry as a mesh of fine lines covering the whole palm (this is known as a ‘full’ hand). Relaxation exercises, like tai-chi and meditation, and adapting a slower pace of life can prevent many illnesses getting a grip when only the warning stress signs are evident.

Now let’s look at some illnesses and the warning signs to look for

Anaemia is indicated by cold hands, white nails and lines that are pale even when the skin on the palm is stretched out. Prevention: take iron supplements.

Allergies are shown by the presence of an allergy line - a curved line on the lunar mount on the lower part of the palm. Prevention: take an allergy test and cut out reactive foods.

Depleted vitality - check for weak lines overall; flabby, deflated mounts and a tasselled ending to the lifeline. Prevention: you need a better diet, regular exercise and a holiday!

Digestion problems are shown by a deep, or multiple Mercury lines. Also by a short, weak lifeline or one with many breaks in it. Prevention: eat healthy meals at regular times, don’t drink fluid with meals nor snack on junk food.

Endocrinal disorders are indicated by fine horizontal lines on the fingertips on all the digits (very common, normal and nothing to worry about if undergoing the menopause). Prevention: acupuncture has been proven to help with endocrinal problems

Irritable bowel syndrome is indicated by lots of fine lines crossing the lifeline creating the effect of the line looking partially erased. Prevention: avoid all wheat products, take probiotic supplements, learn to relax.

Jaundice is easily recognized by yellow palmer skin and nails. Prevention: take the herb milkthistle, avoid fats and alcohol.

Thyroid problems - if the hands are hot, moist, smooth and silky, there is an overactive thyroid. If it’s under active, the skin is cold, rough, dry and doughy. Prevention: get plenty of rest, eat foods high in iodine, i.e. seaweed and seafood.

If you’ve found a warning sign on your palm, don’t panic! Few of us are without some sign of low-level disorder or other. Take professional advice - have regular check ups. A good diet and a healthy lifestyle with plenty of exercise and rest will alleviate or prevent most conditions.

Palmistry Chistian Church

(excerpt from The Palmistry Bible by Jane Struthers [2005] pp 14-19)

Palmistry enables you to discover a person’s character and the events of their life by interpreting the shape of their hands and the formation of the lines on their palms. It is remarkably accurate, and it can seem astonishing that so much information about us is stored in our hands, ready for other people to read. So is palmistry an art or a science? Perhaps it is a combination of both, because it combines intuition and sensitivity that are so often part of an art with the knowledge and experience that are required to practice a science properly.

Fortune-telling

Palmistry is often dismissed as nothing more than fortune-telling, a phrase that conjures up images of crossing with silver the palm of a mysterious crone before she peers at your hand and announces that you are going on a long journey…

The Scientific Approach

In our technological age many of us pride ourselves on being thoroughly rational, believing that nothing exists unless we can view it through the lens of microscope, a telescope or some other scientific instrument. Equally, if we cannot explain why something happens (for instance, why homeopathy works when the fewer active ingredients there are in a remedy, the greater its effectiveness), we may assume there is no merit in it and that we can therefore dismiss it as a figment of our imagination, or as bogus. Some people apply this argument to palmistry and other divination techniques: they cannot explain them and therefore they do not work. But do we have to understand everything that happens or dare we welcome a little trust and magic into our lives? You may not be able to explain how palmistry works, but that does not prevent you from using it and learning from it.

The Four Branches of Palmistry

Originally palmistry was divided into two sections known as chirognomy and chiromancy. Chirognomy is the art of reading character from the shape and size of the hand, fingers and thumbs, while chiromancy is the art of reading the lines on the hand. These two original branches of palmistry have now been joined by two contemporary fields of study known as body language and dermatoglyphics.

You may already be familiar with body language, in which psychologists draw conclusions about people’s character and motives from the way they hold and use their bodies… Dermatoglyphics originated in the 1830s in the study of fingerprints and has progressed dramatically since then. Scientists realised that not only our fingers, but our whole palms, are covered with minute skin patterns that are unique to each of us, and which can be analysed to provide valuable information about our characters.

Self-Knowledge

Palmistry describes both your past and your future, because all the major events that affect you will be shown in your hands. If you use palmistry only to find out about the past and the future, you are ignoring it’s very valuable ability to tell you all about yourself.

Palmistry can describe the strengths and weaknesses of your character, which will help you to become more aware of who you are and, as a result, to develop psychologically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. You may also become more tolerant and forgiving of others once you are aware of your own shortcomings, because you will realise that these are a part of being human. That does not mean you can use them as an excuse for bad behaviour: blaming your arrogant tendencies on your long Jupiter fingers, for example, or your reluctance to stand up for yourself on your thin thumbs. However, you may become aware of your stumbling blocks, which could help you to navigate your way around them in the future.

After palmistry has outlined your strengths, you can start to play on them. For instance, if you are fed up with your current job and want to switch to something more interesting, or even retrain in a new career, your hand will give you plenty of guidelines concerning what might suit you. It will tell you whether you are highly imaginative or rooted in practicality, whether you thrive on a hectic schedule or need to take your time over things. These are all valuable pieces of information about yourself that you can use to your advantage.

What Palmistry is NOT

For centuries, the Christian Church has disapproved of palmistry because it is regarded as a way of telling fortunes. Some people even believe that palmistry is linked to the Devil, or that terrible things will happen to them if they have their palms read. However, palmistry has absolutely no connection with Satanism or with unleashing malevolent forces that will wreak havoc in your life.

Palmistry is not a branch of astrology or the tarot, either, although these techniques are sometimes mistakenly grouped together. There are simple links between astrology and palmistry, because the hand shapes are named after the four astrological elements, and the mounts and fingers are named after the seven planets of traditional astrology, but that is where the connection ends. Palmistry and astrology are entirely separate disciplines, both of which have a great deal to teach us about ourselves.

Consulting And Healing Psychic

A person gifted with psychic powers can explain, understand or feel a force using the ESP which is also called the extra sensory perception or the sixth sense. This power is used to raise the levels of energy to comprehend and interpret things. Every person possesses such powers to a certain extent.
The people are referred to as mediums and psychics.
The Psychics use aura reading, channeling, spirit guides, clairvoyance, intuition, numerology and astrology. Others can feel clairaudience which is the ability to hear sounds that cannot be heard normally or clairsentience which is the practice of knowing the future through an extrasensory perception which is something of intuition and not perceived by the common senses.

The psychic acquires a divination in which he develops the power of foretelling, prediction, prophesying with the help of occult arts. Precognition is a practice that helps a psychic to look beyond in the future under the Divine Guidance. Psychometrics is the theory of gathering power from knowledge of someone who is connected with an activity of moving objects with the mind.

There is also another Psychic theory referred to as remote viewing which is the power of describing a person thing or place without being present there. Telepathy is a psychic condition which is a communication between minds.

These conditions are also psychic in nature and they go forward to bring about the work of psychic healing which follows many techniques like Pranic healing, Reiki or spiritual healing, intuitive healing, necromancy, mesmerism, distance healing, energy balancing, faith healing and so on.

The Pranic Healers channelise their energies from within to reenergize a person with the illness. This can be done by the replacement of energies. The Chakras in the body are realigned with the help of Centering meditation and also by calming the body down and filling it with energy.

Psychic healing may or may not entirely cure a person but it speeds up the process of healing and takes the process through the right path. Psychic healing is based on the fact that anyone is capable of curing himself if he has the desire from within. An internal energy and will power is responsible for that.

Psychic healing process helps in treating phobias, disorders, depression, anxiety, cancer, and other disorders. This sort of healing and consultation can be done even from a distance. Animals can also be healed through the process of psychic healing. The psychic healers are available from consultation on the internet.

Although psychic healing is quite a controversial topic of discussion, it has been into practice since ancient times. The most common forms of psychic healing came through the Shamanistic Healers. These are a specially trained group of people who perform psychic healing though the intervention of spirits. In modern times, this healing theory can be traced back to the days of Antoine Mesmer who propagated the theory of hypnosis.

There have been numerous theories that establish the fact that Psychic healing happens and cures people. It is only the faith and the inherent strength of spirit of the patient as well as the Psychic that is of utmost importance. Psychic help is round the corner. If you have a will to get cured, here is the way!

Number Your Future

There are so many people who always remain curious to know about their future. To cater the needs of these people, there are so many specialists available who offer specific readings pertaining to their future. There are different things and arts that can help people to unveil many things. There is Palmistry, there is Tarot card reading, there is astrology and there is numerology.

Numerology is different in a sense that it may not give you some discreet ideas about the things which will be happening in future, but, it can tell you some tips and tricks to make your present even better.

Numerology is considered to be metaphysical science and it can be related to astrology, in one way or the other. But, there are few certain distinctions between the two things. Numerology is basically a method or a thought pattern that have been designed by different people to find out its effects on living objects. Numerology is around for many years and it enjoys a really long history. However, today, you can find different forms of numerology which exist in toady's world.

There are few new forms and few of them have really originated from the older ones. Also, there are different theories and methods which can change according to culture of a country. It is one of the reasons that you can see some variations in methods and theories in numerology in Japan or India or other European countries. However, most of its forms describe the relationship between digits and their vibrations that can, then, be related to living objects to get to some conclusions about specific things.

There is an oldest form of numerology which is known as Chaldean numerology or simply "Mystic Numerology". In this system, the basic idea will remain the same, but, allocation of digits will differ a bit. Here, letters are assigned different digits according to their predetermined vibrations which complicate things a little. It is because of these complications that it takes time to learn this system of numerology. However, there are some other systems which are easier than this.

When you will go to west, you will find numerology in different forms as people their try to compare different systems with their own. However, Pythagorean Numerology is one of those types which are really popular in western countries.

In this numerology system, you will again create the relationship between things in accordance with digits. Precisely, this numerology system diverts its attention toward the relationship between name and date of birth and assist in making some solid conclusions about the compatibility of both of things and about their effects on people.
Also, this system assigned different numbers to different letters and then studies the relationship. People are really interested in this numerology system as this system is relatively easier to learn. However, it can, still, take some time to master the art of numerology to predict the right things. Pythagorean numerology, however, is center of attractions in western country which is the creation of a Greek philosopher named as Pythagoras.

All in all, it can easily be deduced that there are several numerological systems that people in different countries practice. However, this is one of those arts that fast becoming more and more popular all over the world.

Mystical astrology

I've been thinking about this question a lot lately: "What's the REAL reason we have fear?" Why? Because I've been having more fear than usual. Why? I'm doing things that are new in my business and thus, I'm in unfamiliar territory. You've probably heard these explanations for the root of your fear more than once:
* You're out of your comfort zone
* You need more information
* You fear the unknown
* You lack courage
* You lack focus
* You lack self-confidence

And that's just a short list! While all of those reasons are potentially valid depending upon the situation, I'd like to dig a little deeper, using your fingerprints as our map through fear. Your fingerprints reveal several aspects of your soul, and one of those aspects is your Life Lesson. Your Life Lesson is your blind spot, your gremlin, your nemesis, your "negative tapes." Your Life Lesson could be one or a combination of these issues:
* panic caused by a life out of balance (everything is an *emergency*)
* anxiety making decisions
* not expressing your authentic feelings due to the perceived expectations of others
* sacrificing yourself into burdensome obligation
* lack of clarity about your definition of success
* challenges owning your power in the world
* challenges managing your energy, time and money
* challenges expressing your creativity
* challenges speaking up for your self
* challenges with your family and community (on a life scale)
* challenges finding your passion and dealing with victimization, shame and numbness
* challenges finding your niche due to guilt ("If I succeed, it takes away from others." THAT kind of guilt)
* paralyzing fear of rejection
* trust/surrender/intimacy issues with anything: other people, food, money, etc.

If you look at the above list, are there one or two Life Lessons that really stand out for you? My Life Lesson is "not expressing my authentic feelings due to the perceived expectations of others." Sooooo... now I'm doing new and different things with my business - and what do I fear? You guessed it! I fear what other people think and feel about me. (I recognize I have no control over what others think and feel about me. But it doesn't make my lesson any less painful for the knowing.) If you follow any fear to its natural conclusion, the fear is a painful outcome - humiliation, shame, excommunication, torture, fire, starvation, annihilation, etc. You think I'm kidding? I'm not kidding. THAT'S why we get so afraid about making that important phone call, closing the sale, standing up to our mother or father or our children.
Our Life Lesson is the surface issue that trips us up - it acts, amazingly enough, as a PROTECTION mechanism. What lies below that surface issue is our fear of not surviving. Fear lives in our mid-brain or *reptile brain* and it runs on instinct. All our crocodile brain knows is that if you step into the "Life Lesson Zone," something scary is going to happen.

And then the drama begins. You get distracted, you procrastinate, you have no money, you have no time... The drama is the crocodile brain's way of keeping you from FACING your Life Lesson and hence, learning it. By not facing the Life Lesson, our crocodile brain achieves ITS goal of keeping us stuck. When we learn our Life Lesson, we actualize our Life Purpose.

Astrology Planetary

Astrology is the study of planetary position to determine the course of things ahead in life as well as event and details concerning past life or karma. The earliest recording or sign of astrology was found in the 3rd millennium BC. Astrology has over the course of time, influenced culture, early astronomy and other disciplines.

Astrology uses two ways of predicting the future one is astrological transits and the other is astrological progressions. It is important to understand how both play, in the way a horoscope is read out and predications made. Astrological transits look into the movement of planets and the impact of such movements in space and n personal horoscope. Astrological progressions use a set of methods to determine how a horoscope ha s moved forward in time.

Now-a-days, astrologers no longer predict actual events. Instead what they do is bring out various general astrological events in order to have better results and give importance to arbitrary and unrelated events.

There are three main astrological traditions. These are Vedic astrology, Western astrology and Chinese astrology. Vedic and western astrology make use of an astrological chart or horoscope and make their prediction using the position of the Sun, Moon, and planets. However, the point of difference between Vedic and Western astrology is in the linking of zodiac signs to their original constellations, which while is a feature not present in western astrology, but is considered of paramount importance in Vedic astrology. The chief characteristic of Vedic astrology is in it's use of nakshatras or lunar mansion and planetary periods known as dashas in future predictions.
